Are you a natural connector with a talent for sales and storytelling? The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce (NRICC) is seeking a Membership Development & Experience Manager to expand our membership, foster strong community relationships, and effectively manage our digital presence.

The Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce (NRICC) is the voice of business in our region, connecting members with the resources, relationships, and advocacy they need to thrive. We are a small but dynamic team dedicated to strengthening our community through our advocacy, meaningful programs, events, and partnerships.
We are seeking a Membership Development & Experience Manager to join our team and take the lead on membership growth, engagement, and visibility. This individual will drive new membership sales, strengthen retention, build strong community relationships, and oversee aspects of the Chamber’s digital presence, including creative storytelling and social media management.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Sales & Growth
- Develop and execute strategies to recruit new members and retain existing ones.
- Conduct outreach, presentations, and relationship-building with business leaders.
- Create compelling proposals and close membership and sponsorship opportunities.
- Maintain a pipeline of prospects and track progress in CRM.
Retention & Member Experience
- Build meaningful relationships to ensure members see value in their investment.
- Develop and implement creative retention campaigns and engagement touchpoints
- Report regularly on membership growth, retention, and engagement metrics.
Community & Chamber Relations
- Serve as a visible ambassador for the Chamber at events, networking opportunities, and community functions.
- Collaborate with staff on signature events and sponsorship opportunities that drive member visibility and value.
- Provide feedback and insights from members to strengthen Chamber programs and initiatives.
Digital & Social Media Engagement
- Manage and grow the Chamber’s social media channels with engaging, creative content.
- Work with the team to develop campaigns that promote membership value and events.
- Bring fresh, innovative ideas to strengthen the Chamber’s brand and digital storytelling.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales, business development, or membership growth.
- Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with experience in social media and digital content.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and results-driven.
- Experience with chambers, associations, or nonprofits is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate and be a team player is required!
