Peer Specialist ACT-Woonsocket, RI

A Peer Specialist is needed to provide a bridge between providers and adults with serious mental illness. Peer Specialist will assist in facilitating the care and well-being of those adults while working in a multidisciplinary team. The right candidate will have lived experience with behavioral health issues, the ability to work and communicate effectively, and an outgoing and engaging personality to connect with individuals. Your role will be to share your lived experience of mental illness and/or addiction and serve as a role model for peers; educate peers about self-help techniques and effective coping strategies, sometimes based on personal experience; help peers clarify goals for rehabilitation and recovery; and help peers develop natural support systems.

Education License/Certification Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Completed or willing to enroll in a Peer Specialist Training

Valid drivers license, auto insurance and reliable vehicle.
