About
The Education Exchange is a small non-profit adult education and workforce training institute located in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. It was founded in 1978 and focused its attention on learners achieving their General Educational Development (GED). Throughout the decades the EDEX has expanded its services to include Adult Basic Education (ABE), English as a Second Language (ESL), National External Diploma Program (NEDP), Transitioning to College, and workforce training programs in hospitality, aquaculture, and digital literacy. The target population of the agency is adult learners age 16 and over. Many of our students are under-educated and often unemployed or underemployed. Over recent years most of our population has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The majority of our students are between the ages of 19 and 59, with diverse life experiences and educational backgrounds.
